Advocacy for Education is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Sharon Elaine to help low income families and students through the special education process.

She began her career as a general education and special education teacher in Chicago. She has held several administrative positions that include Special Education Director and Assistant Superintendent for Special Services.

Dr. Price has experienced both personally and professionally the difficulties that can arise when parents do not have the advice needed to make informed decisions. Learn more about Dr. Elaine’s background and her story.

— We Consult

We work with our team of professionals for the benefit of our families and students. Working together with parents, we provide consultation services to help communication between families and schools.

— We Educate

Our families to fully participate in the special education process for their children. We help emancipated students and high school students to make informed decisions about their education. We train you to be your child’s best advocate. Our parents gain confidence through training and advocacy. We help our families become fully equipped to participate in the special education process

Advocacy for Education is an organization created to assist parents and families in navigating the special education process. We are NOT attorneys and we do not pay for attorneys or other advocate services and organizations. If it is determined that it is best for families to work with an attorney or the family decides to do so, the family will not be eligible for services with Advocacy for Education.

— We Provide

A review of your child’s special education paperwork and educate families regarding your rights to a free appropriate public education (FAPE). We assist with recommendations for special education services and help parents to respond to written communications from your child’s school.

— We Offer

Collaborative teams to walk with our families through the special education process that will enable our families and students to receive every benefit from their education. Our sliding scale fee allows every family to receive services regardless of the ability to pay.
