What We Do
Advocacy for Education will request data, information and records based on the needs of your student. We will ask parents to send information to us directly. We DO NOT contact other institutions or facilities to request or send information. An extensive review of your child’s records will be conducted and discussed with you to determine appropriate placement and services for your child.
We assist you by working in collaboration with schools and other facilities to represent your child if you decide you need guidance in communication with teachers, related service staff and school administrators. A release form must be signed to speak with the school directly on your behalf.
Often after receiving consultation from our advocates, parents receive the information needed to empower them to continue independently should they choose. Please complete the consultation form to schedule your appointment
Advocacy for Education is an organization created to assist parents and families in navigating the special education process. We are NOT attorneys and we do not pay for attorneys or other advocate services and organizations. If it is determined that it is best for families to work with an attorney or the family decides to do so, the family will not be eligible for services with Advocacy for Education.
Meetings may be virtual or in person and include parental preparation.
Parents who want to proceed in working with their child’s school independently we speak with you via phone or email.
Services and meetings that go beyond the allotted time will be billed at an hourly rate (e-mail, phone, virtual and in-person meetings)
Imparting wisdom in the special education process for our most vulnerable students.
